And as quickly as it came, the magic seems to have gone again. The magic, that is, of inspired writing. After about two weeks of heady progress I’ve hit a bit of a slump. I can’t tell if the slump is coming from the writing itself or from a myriad of other details vying for my attention at the moment. Luckily, I have a deadline to keep me on task whether I feel inspired or not, so I’ll a least be able to get words on paper; I can make them good later- that’s what rewrites are for.

I actually made it home before 10pm today for a welcome change of pace, but frittered away the time through procrastination and unsatisfactory naps. A headache settled in over my right eye and has been riding around in my skull ever since. I made it out for an evening run, but found it difficult to stay focused. It turns out that running in the same direction as traffic is much less satisfying than running against traffic ( on sidewalks, of course, not actually in traffic). There is a constant sense of being left behind. I’m not sure why that bothered me today: my usual route is all running along with traffic.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for today.
