Friday at last.

First full week of the semester, now successfully completed! It always takes me a little while to get back up to speed with classes, so the first week of anything usually feels pretty difficult just because everything is still new and takes a lot of extra energy to figure out. The cumulative fatigue usually hits me in the mornings rather than the evenings- in the evenings I’ve been running all day, but I often still have a lot of untapped creative energy that needs to be burned off so it feels easier to just keep running. In the mornings, I’ve been sleeping all night so it just feels easier to keep sleeping. A body at rest tends to stay at rest and a body in motion tends to stay in motion, I guess.

Classes are off to a good start. The internship continues to be interesting and not too stressful and I now know the lineup of features for Sundance REALLY well. I didn’t realize that films at Sundance screen six or seven times over the course of the festival in all different theatres in town. I guess I’ve never been to a big enough festival to merit repeat screenings of any film, but then again I’ve never been to one of the big industry festivals where the screenings are like test-drives for a buyer to decide if they want to purchase it.

I’m looking forward to a weekend without commitments in which to gather my wits. I didn’t get to go running at all this week- four out of the five days I was out too late and on the two days when I could have gone in the morning I just didn’t have the energy to get out the door (body at rest). So I could stand some exercise and fresh air.

And reading. I didn’t get to read my book over lunch today on account of another lunch-in-the-car commute from one commitment to another and the suspense is killing me.

So I have a few things to look forward to.
