Photo Ninety Eight

They’ve started to take down the ficus trees along the street where my internship is located. The view at the crest of the hill is now one of industrial towers and refinery buildings instead of dense green leaves.

So I found myself looking more carefully at the trees remaining – while they’re left. I’d never noticed how beautiful the patterns of the shadows cast by their canopies were until I saw this one from an upstairs window. The fact that it was also possible to see the red x on the tree marking it for reaping made it all that much more poignant.
