Almost Donor

I had this vague plan in mind that I was going to donate blood today. I donated back in May and now the Red Cross has my number and hungers for my sweet, sweet blood. There’s a donation center just up the street, and I was considering trying to donate platelets- which is a slightly more time consuming process but which was less likely to be dependent on my iron levels being up to snuff. I even looked into appointment times on the app.

But then I chickened out.

Or rather, procrastinated out- which amounts to the same thing.

“I’ll do it tomorrow.” I promised myself, blithely. Which is why I’m writing about it here: to hold myself to my own promise.

The rest of the day was uneventful. I dithered around in the studio without accomplishing anything meaningful. I cleaned the house. I went for a run. I picked up my sister Bean and her family (The Bean Family? The Beanily?) from the airport. I practiced for a little while. I did my planks. I flossed.

The good news is: I managed to do a lot of the minutiae that I’m trying to use to build new habits. Pick up the bass for at least five minutes every day. Plank every single day. Don’t pick at that for the rest of the week.

But alas it’s not very noteworthy.
