Well, after the excitement of yesterday, today was pleasantly dull. Nobody went to the ER. I went back to work feeling glad to be back in a routine, but struggling to keep my thoughts focused on the task at hand while my brain continued to process the fallout from yesterday’s adventures.

The Curmudgeonly Lion felt *good* enough to go in to his own job today, but only lasted for a few hours before needing to return home. The headache has held steady. The vertigo comes and goes. So far, the nausea has stopped: knock on wood. So it’s progress even if it’s slow. Now he’ll have the weekend to rest, which I hope will help him to shake this thing.

I’m a little bit jealous.

It’s possible that I might have over scheduled myself for the weekend. It’s not even that I have a lot going on: one meeting tomorrow (Saturday) about a potential writing project, and a video shoot on Sunday for a few hours in the afternoon, but I’m pretty pooped and hibernating for a day or two is sounding like a better and better idea. So aside from these two obligations I hope to take things slow for a while and catch up on rest.

It’s only a few days until the end of September; a month that came in like a hurricane and is going out like a pestilence. By this point I’m just looking forward to this month being over. Hopefully October will be better. I mean, it wasn’t all bad- we had some good gatherings with friends and fun outings to movie screenings and beach days, but the overall sense of frustration and futility that underpinned daily life was pretty disruptive and hard to shake. I’m looking forward to starting fresh.
