Screening: Saturday, Nov 10th 2:00pm

After all the turmoil of yesterday’s elections and the news of a friend’s passing, today was a bit rough around the edges. My supervisor had asked me to come into work early, so I staggered out of the house before the sun came up to catch an early bus. Now, after work, I’m headed into downtown for a meeting so I’m likely to be home late. Tomorrow I’m supposed to start early again.

It never rains but it pours.

The good news is: the Curmudgeonly Lion recently reconfigured a laptop for me, so my writing is now once again fully mobile. The bad news is that having a laptop now makes it difficult for me to really know how much progress I’m making- I don’t have the same kind of page count benchmarks that I used to. But I am more diligent about actually sitting down and working on my commute and on my lunch hour, and I’m falling asleep less and getting less distracted by Facebook and Twitter. So that counts for something, I just don’t know what yet.

At any rate, in all the upheaval I nearly forgot to promote my film! My short film “War on Christmas” will be screening at the Chicago REEL Shorts Film Festival on Saturday, November 10th at 2:00pm.

It’s a cute little holiday themed family film- yes, I realize there is still Thanksgiving that needs to happen before we get deep into Peppermint Winter, but I feel like we could all stand something a little warm and cozy these days. Treat yourself. You deserve it.
