Running Against The Wind

Some days are the door, some days are the wall.

“It’s been a long week.” I blithely said to a co-worker. On Tuesday. Now that it’s Thursday, I still stand by my earlier statement.

I can’t really say what is causing the time to drag: my work days have been full. I’ve been diligent about my writing. I’ve walked and blogged and planked with impressive regularity, but I still feel like I’m trapped in place, running against the wind. Work is monotonous and repetitive. The screenplay I’m editing doesn’t seem to be moving forward, even though I’m pleased with the changes. All my walking and blogging and planking are helping me tick off boxes on my to do list, but don’t seem to be having a marked effect on my life. I’m just in the grind.

I suppose I can console myself with the fact that tomorrow is Friday. We have some plans to get together with friends over the weekend that I’m very much looking forward to. And even though it doesn’t feel like much, I am making progress, even though I can’t see it right now. Just need to keep steady.
